The Division
I. I really don’t know what to say in this blog which, after nine years of existence, has become very, very difficult to write. I am so filled with hatred for the neo-Nazis, the monsters, who are taking over our lives that I can think of nothing to say about them: except that every one of them… well, drop that. I’m too old to turn fantasies into the reality that begs for action: the only time I every held a weapon was in basic training during practice with an M-1. Anyone who doesn’t know what’s going on must be living in some dark corner fit only for the dregs of human society. Stop me before I just start cursing mindlessly. But really….there is no excuse for their murderous lives.
So: The Division
As the merchant of hate JD Vance said in his pro-Nazi speech to the Munich Security Conference on Feb. 14, the administration is much more concerned about the “enemy within” — e.g., anti-Nazi leftists in Western Europe — than it is about hostile foreign powers. This pattern we are seeing abroad mimics the pattern we’ve been seeing at home. Trump’s enemies are now the American government’s enemies. There is one standard of justice for friends of Trump and another one for everyone else.
That’s where we begin.
There is no “United States of America.” There is a huge land mass in North America that is now part of the Russian Empire, with Putin as its Emperor, and X’s China as the other arm of the Axis.
If you are reading this you are, like me, an exile from what was once a sovereign nation, allied with other sovereign nations. Anyone who follows the Axis is our enemy.
As Susan Glasser put it in The New Yorker: “We all saw clearly something that has been unfolding over the past couple of weeks: the United States of America has switched sides in the war between Russia and Ukraine. The country is no longer on the side of Ukraine.”
I grew up with Hitler, Stalin, Mao, not to mention the actions of Truman ad McNamara. No matter, Trump and Vance have gone beyond warfare and joined the pantheon of absolute monstrosity.
Castigating Zelensky for not demonstrating enough “gratitude,” the Traitors Trump and JD Vance raised their voices, accusing the besieged leader of standing in the way of a peace agreement with Russia, and lying to the entire world that he hadn’t expressed gratitude for American aid. Later, he was essentially kicked out of the White House and departed with a grim look on his face.
“You’re right now, not really in a very good position. You’ve allowed yourself to be in a very bad position,” Trump told the Ukrainian president. “You don’t have the cards right now. With us, you start having cards.”This is what Hitler might have said to Chamberlain at Munich.The Axis reboon; 1938 here we come.
“I’m not playing cards,” Zelensky said.
II The End of Democracy: They shit on human decency
The Supreme Court allows US to continue a freeze on USAID funds. Nearly all USAID programs have been cut by the Trump administration terminating thousands of foreign assistance grants and awards. The Chief Justice halted a lower court decision ordering Trump to unfreeze the funds and allowed Trump to continue the freeze. The acting solicitor general requested an administrative stay, which would maintain the status quo, “to ensure that the agencies are not placed in the position of violating a federal court.”
He got it from the criminal John Roberts: Fucker. He is not the “Supreme Court” of anyone who is on the side of democracy in the contest with oligarchy/plutocracy.
The main point here keeps going unsaid: Zelensky is Jewish. From their very first meeting, Trump-Hitler has goven him two choices: surrender or die. Fire a black general, fire a female CNO, demand surrender from a Jew. The other part of this “main point” is this: Trump and Vance have one goal and one–total–goal only: to destroy democracy everywhere they can; to subordinate all weaker parties to their Nazified will.
Until that is understood by the (puny) mass media, the blabberers will to be unable to make sense of what Trump does. It is simple: destroy democracy, strangle equality, suppress women into nothingville. No biggie.
III. Shards of Glass, Mouthfuls of Rot
Iowa Governor Signs Bill Ending Transgender Civil Rights Protections. The Republican-backed bill passed both legislative chambers by large margins despite warnings from Democrats that the measure could lead to discrimination and harassment.
Defense Dept. Schools Pause STEM Club for Girls and Pride Clubs for Hispanic and Asian students were also among the student groups put on hold as officials raced to interpret Trump administration orders.
Mayor Eric Adams’s response to moves against women, immigrants and transgender people “weak and inadequate.” Well of course, is anyone not paying attention?
Trump Plans Order to Designate English as Official Language of the U.S. “The order is expected to be largely symbolic but would be a victory for America’s English-only movement, which has long had ties to efforts to reduce immigration and restrict bilingual education.”
His acting solicitor general has said that the Justice Department intends to contest the for-cause protections given to the F.T.C., the N.L.R.B. and the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Why she singled out those three agencies is not entirely clear–except that they sometime help people who need help. Verboten!
Putting all of this together, what we are finally allowed to see is that there are real consequences to Trump’s admiration of and fascination with the world’s dictators, autocrats, and strongmen; that it’s not just a rhetorical preference. He’s straightforward about it: he kisses Putin’s ass (there’s a real dictator for you, no fucking district court judges in sight), and in return destroys what he yearns to destroy. With inestimable help from Vance.
IV. What can be done?
Yes, there are justices doing enviable work in a vacuum that they cannot fill, but only put forth a polite version of what is worthless in the presence of unrepenting mass destruction of the unprotected. You cannot stop murderers from murdering with pronouncements.
Judge Ali had ordered the Trump administration on Feb. 13 to keep disbursing the funds pending the outcome of a lawsuit brought by two health organizations affected by President Trump’s executive order to pause most foreign aid for 90 days.(With which of course Justice John Fuck Democracy Roberts promptly provided, as I pointed out above.) A hearing on Tuesday focused on the growing body of evidence that the Trump administration was flouting that order and exploiting various legal workarounds to keep the foreign assistance from flowing. No kidding.
That’s just one of their attempts to destroy civil society, to amputate from all they can get their hands on the organ, whatsoever and wherever it is, that makes us ordinarily decent human beings instead of vile monsters. As to those: “I pardoned January 6 people who were assaulted by our government,” Mr. Trump said. He added: “They didn’t assault. They were assaulted, and what I did was a great thing for humanity.”
Ah yes, if that’s what humanity really is, I would hope a plague would wipe us all out.
The full extent of Trump’s Jan. 6 pardons is only now coming into focus. Department of Justice officials are arguing that Trump’s clemency even covers unrelated crimes — including gun crimes — uncovered as part of the Jan. 6 investigations.
And at a…is it higher or lower level of filth, what could be better than to wipe out the Chair of the Joint Chiefs who is a black man; and the Chief of Naval Operations, who is a woman. Trump also tapped one Darren Beattie for a top job at the State Department, putting him in charge of the country’s public diplomacy a mere four months after Beattie declared, on X, “Competent white men must be in charge if you want things to work.” We know exactly exactly what this is about.
Better yet:“The Administration is preparing Military Sites Across the Country to Detain Undocumented Immigrants. The move would be a drastic escalation by the White House to militarize immigration enforcement.”
I have to stop here. My apologies for not being able to do more, to do anything, to destroy them.
As for their philosophe Curtis Yarvinn, the hate-filled rat Yahoo manages to describe as “American political theorist and computer scientist,” in terms of how many people he is trying so hard to destroy he is right up there with the very worst mass murderers in history. No torture could be up to what he deserves. I regret having lived long enough to see what the worst human being since Hitler can accomplish.
What did we do, or not do, to deserve this? What can those of us who are, so to speak, disarmed, do to help?
